Requisition Location: Albany, New York

Job Overview:  This position manages the scheduling of programs for broadcast and websites and serves as the point of contact for all program scheduling-related decisions. Additional responsibility for all log verification and other FCC requirements.

Job Responsibilities:
Manage and establish the programming schedule and contracts for broadcasts and websites. 

Make decisions related to the airing of programs based on inventory and network schedules.

 Make recommendations for changes as necessary.

 Implement changes. Handle all viewer questions, comments, and complaints for programming.

Serves as primary contact and station liaison with management for NBC/MyNetwork portal on all programming schedules and preemptions. 

Makes independent decisions when required. Communicates all network programming schedules and changes to all station departments. 

Ensures proper execution.

Responsible for the accurate completion of all required FCC quarterly reports. 

Reports include 398, children's programming, commercial compliance, and issues (technical and others) and programs. 

Gather all necessary information and data to complete reports. 

Submit to Corporate for filing.

Manage and schedule all satellite feeds for syndicated programming and all other feeds as requested. 

Give specific instructions to Broadcast Operations Technicians to ensure all feeds are properly recorded. 

Follow up as needed. 

Primary contact for Technicians if problems arise or feeds are missed. 

Provide direction and solutions for resolution.

Verify all logs to manage accurate rating (Nielsen) reporting. Identify and investigate problems. 

Provide solutions and/or correct them as needed. 

Provide 24/7 support for any programming questions or issues from management and Broadcast Operations Technicians.

Produce monthly syndication programming usage reports. 

Give reports to Business Manager and General Manager for accurate usage reporting.

Ensure the stations meet children's programming obligations as required by the FCC. 

Monitor the number of hours; make recommendations if the stations are running short and set into motion necessary changes.

Designate open availability for Paid Programming each quarter. 

Communicate dates and times to sales so that revenue can be generated. 

Primary contact for Public File inquiries.

Attend meetings as required and needed.

Work cooperatively and collaboratively with others. 

Build working relationships with co-workers, customers, vendors, and the general public. 

Act in a professional manner when representing the station.

Other duties as assigned.

Reports to work on time and works established schedule/hours.


Qualification:
Previous work in broadcasting is required. 

Prefer experience in network and local program scheduling.

 Prefer experience and knowledge of FCC rules and regulations including children's programming guidelines.

Ability to read, write and speak English well. 

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines. 

Knows how to handle multiple tasks, prioritize and manage time-sensitive material. 

Highly organized and detail-oriented. 

Must be flexible and able to deal with unexpected changes calmly.

Proficient with computers with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Must have good communication skills. 

Ability to establish and maintain relationships with a variety of people in the community. 

Ability to interact with employees at all levels within the organization as well as with outside vendors.

Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and/or confidential information in a professional manner. 

Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record as determined by the Company.

 

Compensation and Benefits:  When extending an offer, the company considers a variety of factors such as (but not limited to) the candidate's work experience, education/training & key skills as well as internal peer equity, and other market and business considerations. The annual base salary range for this position is $45,000 - $60,000.
