Local 16 President Mazzacca resigns
July 11, 2022
Dear Sisters and Brothers of NABET-CWA Local 16,
I have made a tough decision to resign as President of Local 16 and I did fulfill my promise that I would stay on as President until we negotiated a new Master Agreement. I have been honored and privileged to serve as your President since March of 2011 and I have been a member since 1977 serving as an Alternate Shop Steward, Shop Steward and Executive Board Representative for the Local.
Bill Bores will be taking over as President and you will be happy and pleased to have him as your next President.
Bill is an honest and hard-working union member for as long as I have known him, which is about 30 years. Bill has always been there to help the members and the local whenever he was needed. Bill’s best attribute is believing the members come first, especially when enforcing the Master Agreement or the safety of our members.
I know Bill will make a great President for you and the local. Put your trust in him like you did with me. I have seen him grow in this position over the years and he is not afraid to stand up to the Company, which he did during these past negotiations.
I am happy to retire knowing we negotiated a contract that is one of the better agreements since I have been a member of NABET Local 16. Thank you all for your support during my four terms as President. Goodbye and good luck to all of my NABET Sisters and Brothers in the future.
Fraternally,
Art Mazzacca
