ABC payroll issues caused by the Kronos outage

December 22, 2021:

Dear NABET-CWA Local 16 Member working for ABC:

As you have probably heard by now, UKG, the vendor that provides the Kronos Workforce time clock recording system to The Walt Disney Company, including ABC, was cyber-attacked last week, resulting in their system going completely off-line. UKG has told their customers that this outage might last several weeks. This means that ABC has to utilize other methods for calculating time worked and providing the correct payment of wages and penalties to you.

ABC has stated that their priority is to ensure people get paid on time and correctly during the Kronos outage. The Union shares that goal.However, there have been multiple errors already reported by members to NABET-CWA leadership involving Newswriters and others who were paid on December 17, 2021. The payroll due on December 24, 2021 involves thousands of A Unit (Engineering) employees nationally, and we are concerned about much larger scale problems this week.

Therefore, in order to properly document any and all discrepancies involving missing or incorrect pay, and to flag potential violations of the Master Agreement and labor law, the NABET-CWA Sector and Local 16, 31, 41, and 51 have updated this form to allow you to immediately make the Union aware of pay issues, especially those related to the Kronos outage.

Please use this form to record each and every incident you have involving incorrect pay and incorrect pay stubs or statements of earnings.

This form is designed to provide you immediate access to Union officials and allow us to centrally collect your input. Any information you provide will only be used to get your incorrect pay rectified faster, and to identify trending errors. Please fill out this form as soon as you become aware of payroll problems.
