NABET Local 18 was formed in 1978, and became NABET-CWA 51018 when the National Association of Broadcast Employees and Technicians affiliated and merged with the Communications Workers of America (CWA) in 1994. We are a proud member of the AFL-CIO.

Our members are the Radio and Television "broadcast essential" employees of The WGBH Educational Foudation - Camerapersons, Master Control Operators, Floor Managers, Audio, Broadcast, Maintenance, Editing and Mix Engineers, as well as those working in Lighting, Scenics, Teleprompting, and many other technical postions. In short, if it's on-the-air or online, our members had a crucial part in getting it there.
