Michael Wilkins

Current NABET-CWA President (since 2013) and Senior Audio Engineer for The World; a nationally-syndicated one-hour, weekday public radio news program.

After a tour of duty in the United States Marine Corps (HMM-26 Avionics, Honorably Discharged), Mike rediscovered his passion for radio while attending college in Lowell, MA in 1983. He worked at several commercial AM and FM radio stations before joining the public-radio sector as an audio-engineer for “Monitor Radio.” He also did a short overnight engineering stint at ESPN Radio (helping them transition from a weekend broadcast format to a full-time, 24/7 broadcast schedule) prior to joining “The World." Has been working at WGBH since 1998.
