CWA Remembers USW President Tom Conway
PRESS RELEASE
The following statement is from Claude Cummings Jr., President of the Communications Workers of America:
As members of the United Steelworkers (USW) family gather in Pittsburgh today to remember the life of International President Tom Conway, CWA joins the entire labor movement in remembering his contributions to the fight for justice for working people. Over the past year, USW, under Tom's leadership, has been an indispensable ally to the striking workers at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and the USW building has become a second home for them, and the USW members and staff have become a second family for our strikers.
We send our deepest condolences to Tom’s family, friends, and our fellow union members at the United Steelworkers and encourage CWA members to contribute to St. Jude Research Hospital in his honor.
