Position TitleMARKETING MANAGER
Position SummaryWorks collaboratively with Development, Outreach/Engagement, Production, and Web to lead the execution of marketing programs from start to finish, leveraging internal support and driving collaboration. Plans and directs marketing, promotion, and public relations activities to enhance the external image of the station. Assists in developing community relationships.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree preferably in public relations, broadcasting, marketing, communication or related field. 
Five years of professional work experience in marketing and/or media environments. 
Possess critical thinking, analytical, and creative talent to develop a concept, idea, or content into a strong visual presentation that maximizes marketing effectiveness. 
Excellent written and verbal communication, including strong editing, grammar, and proofreading skills. 
Ability to meet deadlines and work on multiple initiatives and projects simultaneously. 
Proven experience developing marketing plans and campaigns. 
Strong project management, multitasking, organizational, and decision-making skills. 
Ability to maintain positive interpersonal relationships with various constituencies. 
Metrics-driven marketing mind with an eye for creativity. 
Self-motivated team player with the ability to inspire trust and confidence with colleagues and the public. 
Proficiency with online marketing and social media strategy and management. 
Ability and willingness to travel. 
Ability and willingness to work weekends. 
Demonstrated ability to project a positive image. 
Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications
Marketing, promotion, and public relations experience in a broadcast and new media environment. 
Experience on-camera television and/or other media. 
Experience serving as a host during on-air pledge periods. 
Familiarity with, and an understanding of, the mission of public media. 
Supervisory experience.
Duties & Responsibilities
Provides leadership for all aspects of the station’s multifaceted internal and external communications strategies to engage the public through traditional and non-traditional marketing channels, digital communications, media relations, social media, publications, and promotional strategies, including but not limited to: News releases and media relations; Internal communications; Social media; Web and multimedia. 
Directs the activities of the media coordinator, and various marketing and public relations student employees. 
Establishes positioning, identifies target audiences and builds marketing programs to support specific marketing objectives across different channels and segments in support of our overall strategic marketing plan. 
Leads the conception and design of the station’s digital footprint (web, e-newsletter, and social media presence) – including producing content media for the platforms as needed. 
Manages the production and development or acquisition of new assets (photo, video, illustration) for station platforms. 
Conceptualizes and executes multi-channel marketing campaigns, ensuring the alignment of communications and messaging across all channels. 
Manages processes for regular content review of key pages and ensures all pages are reviewed on a regular schedule. 
Works collaboratively with Development, Outreach/Engagement, Production, and Web to create and promote community events including program screenings, PBS character appearances, fund-raising activities, and others to be determined. 
Organizes and collects content from station departments, including outreach and consultation with radio and television to develop content. 
Prepares and disseminates all station press releases. 
Acts as an on-air host for local fundraising efforts as needed. 
Represents the station’s mission, vision, and values at official functions on campus and within the community.
